As a member of our Community, we request that you abide by the Wight Dating Standards within this Terms of Service. These Standards and Terms of Service apply to all areas of the Wight Dating site and all services offered to users as part of their Wight Dating Membership. Users who violate the terms of our Standards, our Terms of Service Agreement, or our Privacy Policy, may have their use of the Wight Dating Services interrupted, suspended or terminated without notice or refund. You may also wish to review our Privacy Policies.
Wight Dating is a commercial community/chat service, and not a public chat network. Your right to speak freely here must be exercised with courtesy and self-restraint. When you enter Wight Dating, it is the same as entering any real privately owned facility, like a conference room, theater, restaurant, or shopping mall. The manners and laws of real life apply, and we have the right to remove you if you violate the Standards or our Terms of Service.
No Harassment
We welcome all people age sixteen and over of any race, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation and point of view. We do not tolerate expressions of bigotry, hatred, harassment or abuse, nor will we tolerate threats of harm to anyone.
Because we encourage discussion and exchange of ideas, we do not allow threatening, defamatory, abusive, or illegal statements. For the same reason, we do not allow sexually explicit material in conversations, album titles, message topics or nicknames.
Impersonation of other members will be considered a form of harassment, and will not be tolerated.
Privacy
We encourage Wight Dating participants not to give personal identifying information such as passwords, home addresses, contact telephone numbers or e-mail addresses to anyone on the dating service. Users should be aware that, when they disclose personal identifying information, such as their actual name or email address, in a conversation, the information may be collected and used by others to send that person unsolicited email from other parties.
Illegal Activities
We will not allow any illegal activities. Specifically, we won't let you advocate illegal conduct or participate in illegal or fraudulent schemes. You cannot use our service to distribute unauthorized copies of copyrighted material, including photos, artwork, text, recordings, designs, or computer programs.
Stalking of others, on our service or in another manner, is a serious offense. In many areas, such behaviour is considered to be a criminal act. We reserve the right to release information to the proper authorities, because of a violation of our standards, or because of unlawful acts, if the information is subpoenaed, and if we deem it necessary and/or appropriate.
Commercial Activity
Posting or transmitting unauthorized or unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation to other users, in Wight Dating, except in those areas that maybe designated for such a purpose, is not allowed.
Keeping Safe Within Wight Dating
Wight Dating is a lot of fun and you'll meet lots of great people here. Unfortunately, you may run into some people who may not be so nice. Here are some guidelines you should follow when you interact with other Wight Dating members:
- If you are involved in a chat that makes you feel uncomfortable, stop chatting.
- Never reveal anything about yourself that might allow strangers to locate you.
That means keeping your last name, address, phone number, school or workplace
private.
- Be honest about your age and respect the age limits of other users.
- If you ever feel physically threatened, contact the police.
- People may not be who they say they are. Be careful when making new friends
online.
- Don't believe everything you read in chat rooms and message boards. A little
scepticism is healthy.
- If you get a message that is mean or insulting, don't respond. Responses just
encourage bullies.
- If somebody sends you unwanted email through your Wight Dating profile, ignore them. Also add that person to your ignore list so that they will no longer be able to mail you via your profile.
Reporting inappropriate behaviour to Wight Dating staff
If you experience inappropriate behaviour then we would like to hear about it. Wight Dating offers a reporting system which is available to every member. Simply click on the (Report Profile) link which can be found within a members profile. You can also report individual conversations and comments.
Subscription Refunds
Users who subscribe to a Wight Dating premium subscription service or purchase more credits for their account are entitled to a refund within seven days of purchase. No refunds shall be issued after seven days have elapsed. Users whose memberships are terminated or revoked by Wight Dating for Terms of Service or Community Standards violations forfeit any right to a refund for subscriptions paid to Wight Dating for membership and/or the use of premium services.
